Margarita Gritskova triumphant run in Australia

Mezzo-soprano Margarita Gritskova has received rapturous acclaim from Australian critics for her performances in the title role of Rossini’s La Cenerentola with Opera Queensland.

Performing at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), Gritskova’s portrayal of Angelina was hailed as “nothing short of a revelation” by The Urbanite, with critics praising her “masterclass in the bel canto style” and fluid precision. Writing for Stage Whispers, Kitty Goodall commended her beautifully judged performance, noting that she brought “dignity, emotional truth and quiet resilience” to the role, balancing a “heavenly quality” in her singing with a deeply human acting performance. Further praise came from Limelight Magazine, which lauded her “astonishing, controlled virtuosity” in Rossini’s fiendishly difficult final arias, while Absolute Theatre celebrated her as the unwavering emotional anchor of the entire production.

Following her triumphant run in Australia, Gritskova returns to Europe for a highly anticipated role debut this summer. From 4 July to 1 August 2026, she will step into the open-air arena of the Oper Klosterneuburg summer festival to sing the role of Dalila in Camille Saint-Saëns’s masterpiece Samson et Dalila.

Paolo Spadaro Munitto conducts at Teatro alla Scala with Colasanti’s opera “Anna A.”

We are pleased to announce that Paolo Spadaro has appeared at Teatro alla Scala conducting Silvia Colasanti’s Anna A.

“On the podium, Paolo Spadaro conducted with admirable clarity. The conductor was able to master the score’s dual nature: on the one hand, he allowed the broad melodic lines to breathe, supporting that deeply moving ‘cantabilità della privatizione’; on the other, he imparted rhythmic bite and acidic colors into the grotesque sections, evoking sonic specters of great impact. A direction that served Colasanti’s ‘grand writing’ with absolute dedication.” (commentimusicali.it)

This engagement marks another important step in Paolo’s developing international career.
We congratulate him warmly and look forward to his upcoming performances this season.
